Crazy Cat Café: what do users think?

El T: This place is lovely. There are many sweet cats just lying around. One of them came to the restroom with me because she was thirsty and she drank from the tap :D the service was very nice and friendly. The cappuccino was good, but the salty cake was little bit dry and boring. Otherwise we had a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend this place if you like cats.

C. Ketcham: We went for brunch and enjoyed the food and experience. They had three brunch times available. You show up at your desired time and they seat you when they are ready to start the group. To get inside, press the button on the door and they will come get you, so no cats sneak out. The staff is friendly and the cats are cute. After brunch it becomes more like a cafe.

Mandy F: Cute cafe with a few cats. The cats can be a bit eager when they see food though. Just push them away a bit harder so the staff won’t get irritated..menu is fine. Nothing special. Not cheap.Fun for a one time experience

Dru Lu: Interesting spot but a uncomfortable dinning experience. Limited seating and limited menu. Also limit in dinning time. This is not a place to relax over a coffee and desert. More like a themed restaurant or tourist trap. Definitely would not recommend to line up for the spot unless you are just in a desperate need to get some cats exposure. But the cats are cats and are more likely to hide away then come by your table and ask to be patted.

Lauren Gleason: We go to cat cafes whenever we travel, and this one was the prettiest and had the best food. We enjoyed our cocktails and appetivo snacks. I ordered the three chocolate dessert and it was delicious. Cats were very sweet! Highly recommend if you’re a fan of cats and want some good food.

Cat S: Good atmosphere and music and the cats were cute, and the staff were nice. Only thing that could have been different was that the lavender latte was a bit small of a portion, with the cup coming in only half full. However, it was delicious and I do recommend.

Laura Aurvalle: Amazing café with unique ambiance, great food and veeeery good drinks! The aperitivo was delicious and the cheesecake was so nice. But the best part: the cats are so chill. They were either playing or sleeping and you can see how they love their home. This is a great choice either for a coffee break, brunch or aperitivo, if you love cats don't miss out!

Arul Velan: My wife and I were holidaying in Milan when we came across this little feline heaven tucked away in the corner of Via Napo Torriani street. It is a unique cafe that houses 8 beautiful felines. You need to ring the bell to enter as they do not want the cats to escape the vicinity and roam outside the cafe. The cats are comfortable with the guests and they look really healthy and happy. The place is also very hygienic which came as a surprise to us. The cats cafes that we visited in other parts of the world weren't as hygienic as this one, so kudos to the care takers and staff for keeping the place clean and beautiful. To escape the Milanese cold, we only bought their hot tea as we simply wanted to relax and interact with the cats. But we saw other patrons of the cafe enjoying their brunch which looked really appetising- something we might try on our next visit. Pro-tip: Do get there early as it can get really crowded, especially on a weekend.

Lucia Rodriguez: Slightly overpriced cat-cafe near Milan’s central station. We only got a coffee (catpuchino) and a strawberry tee, ordering anything else would have made it become too expensive. We spent €11. You are only allowed to stay for 45 minutes and have a mandatory spend of €5 (including €1,5 for ‘cat therapy’). Cats are cute, of course and quite patient with the patrons. When we got there, we didn’t have to wait (around 17:30 on a Saturday), but a line started to form after us.

Lucy Cicéron: I loved my experience at the Crazy Cat Cafe. You are only allowed 45 mins inside and there are many regulations as to how you can spend time with the cats but you can truly see that they are happy which is the most important. Slightly overpriced: we pid 15€ for an ameowricano, a catpucino and a chocolate cake (including money that goes towards the wellbeing of the cats) but i believe its a one time experience.

OIPA - Organizzazione Internazionale Protezione Animali: what do users think?

Broken HatesYou: Rude and impolite staff. I called to inquire about adopting five rabbits, they were rude and even offended by calling me irresponsible and allowing themselves to criticize my private life. I advise against everyone, rather than referring to these incompetents, try something else.

Loredana LoLo: Hi, I'm very sad, yesterday, the girls from the association where I adopted Puk took him away from me, the motivation: restless kitty, despite the protection of the balcony he could be at risk of jumping, and then the house is small (mono ), precise that they had done the pre-reliance and had seen the house, also I had asked for an adult cat and they convinced me to take a 6 month old puppy, I have no words ....

GIOVANNA COSIMA BRUNETTI: I called for information about a dog that barks continuously in that case even in the evening until after midnight and they explained to me how I recommend to notify the administration of the building.

Marco Spada: I found a wounded nutria I called and they arrived in 15 minutes. I would say exceptional

Chiara Romaniello: I'm sorry. give only 2 stars, but it is to signal the rudeness of the operator who answered my call to the Rome office: I understand very well the large number of phone calls to manage, but when you decide to do a similar job you have to take this into account . I called to get information on how to make a complaint, sorry to report, as I was pointed out in a hasty way, of mistreatment: I read clearly on the site that they must be NOT anonymous, but I wanted to have confirmation, since the owner of the animal in question is quite vindictive. While I was trying to explain, he was talking over me. Bad experience.

Maryanna Phasone: I wanted to make a free donation by bank transfer. Well, after that, they violated my privacy by finding my home address and sending me newsletters to join. Which I didn't ask. This action, done without my permission, bothered me a lot. I hope it doesn't happen again...

Vale Max: Disappointing phone call Write it down and specify it on the site THAT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED REPORTS UNLESS THROUGH FILLING IN THE FORM. But you could also collect them by phone and above all anonymously SINCE THOSE WHO HURT ANIMALS CAN BE STRONGLY VENDICATIVE. It's okay to ask to take responsibility for a report BUT YOU EXPOSE PEOPLE TO DANGER. I WOULD SAY YOU SHOULD REFLECT

Arianna Pricca: Oipa is a magnificent association that takes care of and protects animals, with love and great dedication. I will forever be grateful to the blue angels of Oipa, their very special volunteers who saved my cat and allowed me to become her mom! Visit them and participate in their many charity events or help them with a small donation.. Believe me, helping those little creatures will change your day!

Ivan Bašić: they are doing a great job very difficult and tiring

Donatella Taraschi: I am thrilled with the service that was immediately activated for me. The operators are precise and kind to my dog (Iron, German shepherd) who is happy when they arrive

Feral Feline Colonies Torre Argentina: what do users think?

Becky Bennett: Had the best time here. If you are a cat lover it's a must see while in Rome. We were welcomed as soon as we came though the door by a very friendly member of staff. She told us all about the amazing work they do for the cats. You could see they were so passionate about the cats. They were definitely very well looked after. She invited us into one of the cat rooms for cat who need a little more care. They were all so lovable and friendly. I fell in love with them all. I didn't want to leave.

Kevin McCabe: Love this spot. Disappointed that the sanctuary itself was closed off, but still some cat viewing and the organization had its doors open to intrigued visitors. Don’t feed the cats, but in general this is a mesmerizing spot in the center of Rome. Would recommend if visiting the city with smaller kids, and/or if an animal lover.

Agata aaa: Not only best place in Rome but on earth. About 90 cats living in ancient ruins… some of the cats are very nice and friendly- some not- just like cats… really nice staff, I could’ve go to the closed cat place and play with more cats!!! There are big and small ones, cute and grumpy.. staff takes care of blind, deaf, disabled ones. Cats meow very loudly and chill out in the sun next to the ruins…… inside you can donate by buying some cat-souvenir. There are really cute toiletry bags and towels.

P: This is a cat lovers dream! Hiding at the corner of the ruins in Largo di Torre Argentina, a site where Julius Caesar was stabbed and murdered, we find ourselves a lovely cat sanctuary. The entrance is located at the southwest corner (Via di Torre Argentina and Via Florida). Some very great people are volunteering there and taking care of the cats. I am not a cat person but for a good cause, I make a trip here and get a souvenir for my cat friends every time when I visit Rome. Great place to take a break from your busy itinerary. (July 2022)

Everett Gillison: For something on the offbeat side, we stopped at this ongoing archeological dig where a nonprofit has been dedicated to feeding the cats who roam through the ruins freely. Cut sing reminds visitors not to feed the cats as they may wander off an get hit in the streets of Rome. Currently they are caring for 80 cats, some with disabilities. Worthy charity.

Fiona Linehan: Oh my delight when we stumbled across this place. I love cats and just seeing them relaxed in their safe environment was heart warming (also a fun game of spot as many cats as you can!) Well done to those helping these cats - it’s amazing and other countries and cities should do the same!

J. B.: Our favorite place to visit during our Rome vacation! We visited it on our last day as well, just to say goodbye to all the adorable kitties. We're all cat lovers, so this was heaven to us. All the sweet, and some poor souls, craving Cuddles and attention was amazingly cute and an amazing experience. I've never felt better spending money on something. Definitely a must when you visit Rome!

Edel Malene Farstad: The staff here are wonderful, make you feel welcome, and most importantly they take great care of the cats, they know all their individual needs and can tell you a lot about them and their stories. You can meet many adorable cats and cuddle those that like to be cuddled, and buy cute products to support the work, or even distance adopt a cat! I visit every time I am in Rome and always have a great time.

J Marinelli: An absolute favorite place to stop and visit. Walk around this incredible sanctuary. The cats are cared for in such a healthy way. Both medically and adopted. The ones that can roam have a place to live and the ones that have serious conditions also have a place to live in a protected environment. To sit and escape from the hustle and bustle of the world this is def a place to escape for an hour or so.

Lidia Lilly: The lady in the shop is very nice. She told us passionately about all the different Kitties. The cats are so cute and healthy and taken care of! They are beautiful to watch too. They sell cute merge to support their shelter. They help over so so many of cats That's why you dont see a lot of strays in rome. We visited two times in the week we where in rome. Less than we would have liked.😭❤️

Quad City Animal Welfare Center: what do users think?

Lillie Glenney: My boyfriend and I went and got us a kitty yesterday. We had went in on Monday and checked out all the different cats available and came back to pick this guy up on Wednesday. They gave us his medical record from the time he was there, as well as free food and treats and toys for him. This shelter is well organized, and very spacious. They have an appropriate amount of cats in each room. Our little (big) guy is adjusting well to our home. He's a little confused and scared but he's been drinking and eating and knows where his litter box is. I think he's gonna love his new home after he adjusts to not being in a shelter anymore. (Edit: 4 months later) Lucius our wonderful kitty is now fully adjusted to our home. He's such a big baby and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect kitty for my little family.

jenna flinchum: they are truly amazing here.my boyfriend and i recently adopted kori (formally known as shadda) about a week ago and they were so kind and helpful with everything. Our councilor was the sweetest ever and they truly do care about their pups. definitely will be back next time we’re looking for another addition to our small family.

Cathy Conger: Very kind and informative staff. They helped pick out the perfect pet. I highly recommend. This is my girl. We named her Stormy

Arthur Panick: We have adopted two dogs, Cookie and Chico from here a great experience both times.

Anna Gibney: Amazing experience. The facility was.very clean. The staff are kind and helpful. I would recommend this as the only place to go to adopt a pet in the quad cities.

Amanda Albright: I appreciate having access to affordable vaccines for my fur babies. The people who helped me were so kind and provides super quick service.

Kristina Mitchell: I karaoked for my cat. $30 off. This is by far the cleanest place I have ever been too. I have adopted 2 from here.

Sheigh Thomas: I love this place, and all they do for your pet. They really have great price, friendly and treat your pet like their own!

Billie J Terrill: I was blessed with these two kittens from QCAWC. Although I couldn't visit in person prior to adoption, the staff was very patient and answered all of my many questions. I first got Ninja (the multi color) in December 2020 and then decided he needed a brother. Samurai has been with us for one month. The two get along so well. Thank you QCAWC for making my home a happy one.

Rob Elliott: They were very nice and informative. Walked us through everything we needed to know about Tazer and so far he is happy checking out his new home. Thank you..

Nicole Vrooman: This shelter is quite amazing! Clean and hospitable! We adopted our dog in August of 2021. I would definitely go back to adopt another dog if I could!

Nikita Gee: Extremely nice facility, very friendly and knowledgeable staff! Highly recommended! My family has adopted 2 dogs from them so far!

Anna Overfield: I have never seen a facility, as clean an nice as this. The staff are amazing with the dogs.we adopted a dog .she is the sweetest. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO ADD A NEW FUR BABY TO YOUR FAMILY .GO HERE FIRST.YOU WILL LOOK NO FUTHER Thank you ACS

jackie vangorden: Went to adopt a beagle puppy they had available, was made to believe the mama to the pup was one of the 4000 beagles rescued from Envigo facility in West Virginia, well needless to say it wasn’t, it was a random litter given to them by someone because they were being abused. puppy came home with us only to find out it had tapeworms, brought it back to be treated, they gave a dewormer and took the sample we left to get tested, come to find out it sat there for the weekend and when i called they told me they had no idea it was even there and if I needed further dewormer it would be out of my pocket and sample was now no longer fresh to test, there was also lots of confusion as to what puppies from the litter we’re available, we weren’t given any back story on the litter and seemed to rush through the process and out the door we went, kinda frustrated and felt very mislead with how our experience went not sure I would recommend to others.

Jocelyn Mullen: tons of miscommunication among employees and potential clients. call ahead before showing up, as their hours stated online and on the office door are not accurate. when made aware of the incorrect hours, the lady at the desk did nothing but make excuses.

Brittany Rutter: We've adopted two cats from these guys so far. We absolutely love them so much that we even became volunteers! These guys are the only ones I personally will ever adopt from or recommend! Staff are great!

Jenna Heagy: We adopted a cat from the Animal Care Sanctuary. You can tell the staff takes great care of all the animals. The staff is very helpful and kind. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to adopt an a pet. This place is purrfect.

Ashley Gyurik: Great place to go if you're looking for a new furry family member. They have a barn cat program where you can adopt feral or wild cats to help with pest control around your farm, which I think is really cool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We adopted our dog Aurora(left) from them
Response: Ashley - thank you for your review and sharing your experiences with ACS.

Emily Makepeace: Such kind and caring people!I'm so glad I found this place, and the dog I've been waiting for!Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Ann Benjamin: High praise to every person I spoke to on the phone, as well as upon arrival. As many know, rescuing an abandoned pregnant cat from one's Carriage House is only the beginning. Keeping the expectant mother safe, warm, and slowly domesticated comes next. And then the kittens are born, in this instance beneath my bed, literally into my waiting hands. Five babies! All of whom were adopted locally; Momma was spayed and vaccinated, also. But...I am also caring for 14+ other cats, so I had to wish that beautiful momma Godspeed when the Sanctuary offered to rehome her. I left feeling as if I had made not only the right decision, but the BEST decision.

Ferndale Cat Shelter: what do users think?

Joan Kacir: I LOVE FCS!! I adopted 2 babies from them last year and one more this month. They are compassionate, generous & so knowledgeable about cats. The volunteers that are there are amazing! And the founder Deanne is a cat loving version of Mother Theresa. I wish them much success as they continue to make a difference… one cat at a time!! 😻

Steph M.: I have fostered a pregnant mom cat and (after she got them) also her kittens for the FCS. It was the fist time for me and FCS team was always there to support me with advice and whatever supplies I needed. Lynn was always very quick to reply. We worked around things if I needed help or someone to temporary jump in for me - it was never a problem. All the spay appointments were organized quickly and information was provided before and after the appointment so that I knew what and how to deal with. I can say they always have the animals best interest at heart!!! The adoption process for all the kitties and the mom was easy and quick. They all have their forever home now! I ended up keeping one of my foster kittens myself and she makes me very happy every day ^^

Michelle McLane: The place to go if you're thinking about adopting a cat. I can't speak highly enough of the dedicated, caring crew at this place. I met my "little girl" at the Cafe. The Cafe is great because you get to meet the kitties. I really appreciated their vetting process, too, to ensure that my cat & I were a good match. They then offered lots of advice & support afterward for which I was grateful as a total cat newbie. We've had our little one for over a year now & we're doing great. Thanks, all!

Hannah Sample: I have been working with Ferndale cat shelter for several years now. I used to foster with them for a couple years before moving out of state and ended up adopting one of my fosters. I've never worked with a rescue that saves so many special needs animals and their attention to their cats is amazing. The cat I ended up adopting was blind and I am so so thankful they did the work to save him so he would find his forever home with me. I also really appreciate that they vet their potential fosters and adopters to make sure their cats are going to a safe home that is going to provide for them. In reading some other reviews I'd like to note that I've lived in several apartments and different locations and have not had an issue with fostering or adopting through FCS. After moving away for a year I'm getting ready to adopt my second cat from them, however due to a medical issue had to push back the adoption. They have been more than accommodating during this period and I am so thankful to have found such a wonderful organization. I cannot wait to continue fostering and volunteering with them now that I'm back in the state, and to adopt my newest addition, another special needs kitty! I've always worked with Lynn there and she is AMAZING! She is always available to answer my questions and provide insight when I need something.

Kristen Pasek: Ferndale Cat Shelter and all their employees and volunteers are amazing. I can truly say they are invested in each cat’s unique situation and finding their perfect foster and forever home. They help match adopters and cats together based on environment and personality. I was able to find my sweet girl who changed my life for the better through FCS! And when I found a very sick, pregnant cat outdoors, they helped trap her and give her all the medical care she needed in order to save her life. Each cat is special to them, and it shows by their care and compassion. I would always recommend Ferndale Cat Shelter for anyone looking to find their next fur baby!

Marne McGrath: I have 'forever fostered' Lilly, a senior diabetic kitty, for Ferndale Cat Shelter for the past five and a half years. Everyone who I've worked with has been compassionate, kind, and dedicated to helping as many cats as possible. These folks have taken on an insurmountable challenge and do it with grace. If you're looking for a kitty to adopt FCS should be your first stop. They truly care about the quality of life for each cat who passes through their doors.

Theo Cudney: Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, ValueKatie was amazing and same with my kitties foster mom. I adopted 2 bonded kittens from them after losing my 1yo kitten to terminal cancer and they were so amazing and kind. I’ve had them since January and they have brought so much light and joy into my home. Would definitely recommend adopting through them.

Joanne Metcalfe: Ferndale Cat shelter helped me out with two emergency TNR’s as well as assistance in some vet care and adoption of some kittens we found in our neighborhood. Nobody else was able to do this when I needed help and had told me they were either full or had no appointments. FCS always does their best to help in anyway they can. I would highly recommend them to anyone, anytime whether they are cat advocates or looking to adopt.

Sarah Carman: I couldn't love an organization more. We visit their catfe whenever we can. They helped us adopt out a stray we found and supported us fostering an elderly neighborhood stray. We adopted a kitten several years ago, and when the kitten ended up having medical issues shortly after adoption (through no fault of FCS), they helped with his medical bills and came to appointments with us. If I could give them 10 stars out of 5, I would.

Madeleine Bien: I had found a stray kitten that was staying outside my house, with no mother around and temperatures dropping quickly. I contacted Ferndale Cat Shelter and spoke to Lynn, who was very helpful in giving me the right advice and steps to take to bring the kitty inside and quarantine him so that he was out of the cold. She was extremely responsive and professional, answering all my questions and going out of her way to help me. The Ferndale Cat Shelter helped me and guided me in the right direction to care for the kitty. I will be visiting in person as soon as they are open for visitors.

Animal Haven: what do users think?

Karrie Melody: Thank you for all the staff and volunteers for all the hard work they do to keep pets safe. I was referred by one of my colleagues who previously adopted his pet from here. We asked for any available male cats and the staff was really friendly, explaining how the process work. We went to the room and played with cats and that’s how we chose our lovely Loki (Colton previously). It was important for me to choose a no kill shelter. All the pets are well cared and held in clean conditions. They have glass doors in the rooms for transparency. I’m so happy that we were able to adopt our Loki the same day. It took us about 1,5 h to go through application process and I think it’s great that they are taking time to make sure the pet is given in good hands. We had a pet carrier bag with us and we took our Loki home right away. We paid the fee and they even gave us package of food for the cat to make adaptation process smoother as moving to a new home is already stressful. The first days Loki was hiding and didn’t eat much but we made sure to give him some time and space. Right now he is the owner of the house, playing , having fun and exploring his first Christmas tree. We’re very grateful for our newest family member! Highly recommend this shelter! Many thanks to volunteers and staff again!

Mariposa: Very nice looking shelter for cats and dogs but staff didn't seem friendly at all. I filled out an application to adopt the cutest dog ever despite his special needs! I'm in love with him after meeting a greeting him yesterday. I was interviewed by a girl at the front desk who went through the application with me but it felt more like a job interview. My husband and I don't have any pets or children at home and will love to bring this pup home with us. I think their adoption process makes it very difficult for those trying to adopt and shouldn't take so long. After all these pets need a home! Sadly, this is why so many people decide to buy pets instead of adopting. Edited: 9/14/22 I just called Animal Haven and was just told that the dog I was interested in adopting was already adopted and that they thought my review on Google was very "hurtful" and they do not like that. Then the lady I was speaking to (No need to mention her name because it is not personal for me) said "have a nice day" and hung up. If you are in the process of adopting make sure you write a good review regardless of your experience during your meet and greet with the pet or be emotionally and mentally ready for your application to be rejected. This has been my experience and I don't wish this to anyone else.

Bella: If I could give this place a million stars I would. Animal haven is one of the best places to adopt ever! We have adopted two cats from animal haven and are so happy with the staff and with the animals. Animal haven takes such good care of their animals and is an amazing place to adopt from. They stand behind the care of their animals and don't turn their back on their animals even after they are adopted. I've seen some bad reviews regarding their extensive adoption process and to be honest I think that extensive adoption process is great. They make sure that their animals are going to good homes and personally I think that's great. Another thing I've seen is about their policy that they don't hold animals for you. I know it can be heartbreaking to have an animal that you've had your eyes on be adopted beforehand but I don't see why the animal should have to wait for a home when they could get one on the spot with another adopter. Animal haven is very open with That policy and personally I think there's no issue with that. Animal haven is an amazing organization and their staff is so amazing I could ramble on about them for hours. If your looking for a place to adopt this is the place!

Stanley Zheng: amazing place, has walk in hours. Not first come first serve, put in applications and really evaluates the best candidate for the animal. ~200 for costs at least for kittens. Well worth it considering all included vaccines, chipping, and early care!

Harry Boudreaux: Went to adopt a pet and was told we were an hour early before they show them. I didn’t know they had hours for showing the adoptable dogs.. so I asked if I could put my name on a dog I really liked and the lady said we don’t do that. Well after speaking to the manager I discovered they do have a list of people with their names on dogs. Why would you lie to someone about this? Why don’t they just kindly take your name and what dog you are interested in and then you can find out later how many other people have their name on the list ahead of you. I would not get my dog from a company where the employees lie to you bold face. Shame on you you Animal Haven!

Kareemah Jones: Animal Haven is such an amazing place, clean spacious and bright. The staff there are patient, knowledgeable and so nice. Rose and Chrystal answered all my tedious questions and made the process short and incredibly sweet. The day I sent an inquiry about a dog I got a response so fast (same day)! Took home my guy Finley a week later because he needed to be neutered, have all his shots and microchip (which were all covered under the fees). Was also sent home with some puppy food for a few days as well as a leash, collar, harness and then the vaccinations were emailed. This process couldn't have gone easier (unless they delivered the dog!). May need to get a companion for our pup down the line, and if we do then it will be Animal Haven all the way.

SHELLY W: Staff is nice via email but very rude, condescending and pretentious in person. You can immediately tell if they’ll allow you to adopt just by how they look at you. Application feels more like a job interview. Kitten room was extremely full. Of the 20 something kittens they stuffed in a glass room 1 or 2 appeared to have energy while the others appeared to be frail, weak, underweight and clumped in the corner. Kittens who have already been adopted are mixed in with kittens who have not been adopted and who have not been health checked. Wouldn’t recommend anyone who’s truly interested in adopting a pet to come here.

Jazmyn: I've had such a good experince here! Stopped by on a Friday after work and fell in love with a dog. Prior I went through the website saw what was needed to adopt and had my proof I can have a dog in my apt in the works. Which can just be a letter or anything thatbstates you'reallowed. I had to bring the other ppl living with me on Sunday to make sure everyone was on board. Which I like! The adoption application was easy you fill out the app honestly and they go over it with you. That's it. I do recommend asking if there's other apps for the dog/cat your interested in, I asked and they let me know that if someone comes in prepared with everything they can adopt the dog before me. We realized he was too big and asked to see other dogs, they let me see 3 or 4 other dogs and in the end I found the dog for me! Evwryone I encountered was very friendly. I have no complaints. I rather like that they are thorough in the adoption process it ensures you don't have to bring the dog back they are up front with everything about the dog or cat you choose. Will def volunteer! And possibly adopting again✨️

christina szarka: Had the worst experience similar to their 1 stars on yelp but worse it was just plain mean what they did to me. Fell in love w a puppy was in communication w them for about 2weeks due to the holiday in between travelled from upstate they knew I was coming upon arrival was told the dog most likely was no longer available and that a fam was deciding between him and another puppy. We’d now have to wait until 6pm to see if they were taking him. They already wanted another puppy I only wanted mine. We agree to wait all day gladly and then right in front of us she asks them if they need overnight!!?! 2 more days of sitting on eggshells and calling they knew I desperately wanted him the family took the other dog great right?? Nope. Now I’m waiting to hear if they’re letting me have him.. nope snd now they’ve already adopted him out him out to someone else. They never checked my references they knew I was a higher up in veterinary medicine, my 17yr old husky mix died months ago I showed them videos photos and had testimonies friends from when my dog passed saying how my life revolved around my dog snd what a great life she had. My dog had a prong collar over her leather collar in a few pics on the video we lived in the city and I’m petite I would never do anything to harm or even make her uncomfortable. I do feel owning large and strong breeds you need to be responsible keep in mind I’m in the veterinary industry. They write me an email saying that they were against that collar and they hope I use this as a teachable moment. Disgusting. These people are disgusting. Not that my dog was happy, healthy, at the beach, being coddled, at work with me. I’m crushed. Ps the puppy was covered in urine and I don’t appreciate being spoken down to by someone with less credentials & I tolerated that too. Go elsewhere. They’re not nice people at all.

Daniel Nieves: I adopted from here a few years ago, but my little Dawson passed away in June. I lost my best friend and cried a whole bunch! Fast forward to October, I met a little doggy name Dot, it love at first sight! Dottie is a joy to be around and I’m so glad I made this move, even though I still my little Dawson, I still have lots of love to give, and besides, Dawson would have wanted me to save another doggy. Thank you Kate!

Bobbi and the Strays: what do users think?

Jessica Montalbano: Just brought our new dog Sammy home from BATS on 7/17/22 and our experience adopting from this rescue was nothing short of wonderful. My past experience with other animal rescues were shaky at best- often I would see a dog online and inquire but the dog was already adopted, or I would put an application in and get called to come meet the dog, but because I couldn't drop what I was doing and come in at that exact moment the dog went to the next available person. So when I applied at BATS I didn't expect much but I was so pleasantly surprised. I applied online for a couple of different dogs, and within a day or two my personal references told me they had been called. I assume they also spoke with my landlords and my vet, and they then called me to see when I could come meet a specific dog they had in mind. I believe they take the information on your application and match you to a dog that they think is a good fit, which is great! My fiancé and I were paired with a dog who was sweet but VERY frightened of people, so BATS had us come twice to meet with the dog and then a third time to meet the dog with our dog present. They let me know from the beginning that there were other people being considered for this baby, but I never felt strung along- after the second meeting they made it clear that we were at the top of the list. They also told me that had we not been selected, they would've shown us other dogs that would've been a good fit. I don't know if three meet and greet visits is standard for all their animals or if it was just the protocol for my guy because he was such a nervous baby, but regardless we didn't mind at all. There was also a virtual home visit which was fairly painless- I was nervous because I live in an apartment which I thought would count against me but BATS just wants to ensure the home and yard are safe. The day we came to pick up our boy, we were given a folder with medical information, and microchip information. We were given a goody bag filled with treats, toys, and a bag of the food the dog was eating so we could transition him slowly to the food we had. So thoughtful. But what struck me most of all is several of the shelter workers came to see the dog off, and asked to exchange phone numbers with me in hopes of hearing about the dog's progress. One woman actually gave me a little gift and a beautiful heartfelt card about what a good dog he is and how happy they all are to see him go to a good home. It was heartwarming! TL;DR: as the other reviews mention, yes its a process to be approved but I personally think that's a great thing. It is CLEAR that this shelter is deeply committed to the welfare of their animals and wants to ensure they go to the perfect home- how can anyone be mad at that? Yes, the adoption fee is on the higher side- but it really isn't when you consider that its covering neutering, vaccines, microchip. Also, most of the shelter workers are volunteers. Considering all that, and considering that a good dog is absolutely PRICELESS, I was happy to pay what they asked. Thank you Bobbi & all the volunteers and workers for being such caring people and for such a wonderful adoption experience!!

Meg Bell: I recently adopted a dog from Bobbi and the Strays and couldn't be happier. They are thorough in their process of making sure each pet goes to a good home. You can tell the volunteers really care about the animals and do their best to make them feel comfortable and loved while they are in the facility. Can't say enough good things!

Tyler Kurtz: Bobbi, to Louise, to all of the amazing volunteers and workers, this is the best place to go when you are in search of a furry companion. I’m so glad to have found this organization and will continue to follow them for many years to come. Thank you for being so accommodating and sincere, this truly means a lot! Also, the animals are all kept safe and loved for!

Joshua the same 62t1 Wacks: What an amazing place and the people working there are amazing. So happy that they do such an indept process on adoption. I adopted my awesome 4 month old puppy judge this past Sunday and I couldn't be happier. Elyse and the whole staff, thank you again for making my family so happy.

I S: How is it possible? I was denied an application.?) When I spoke to Bobby the first time, everything was cool when I open, it would not tell me why I was 9+ whatever that means . I believe it was Louise who said references were probably the best ever received! Bobby, had been under the weather, but no use for being so rude Luis said she would speak to Bobby on my behalf but I guess it never happened because no one ever got back to me. I have had. Many pets over the years and it is a shame that poor puppy could not come home with me. I am so torn by this I cannot look any further. Hopefully Bobby, or someone else will get back to me. no I doubt it is. They never respond to reviews.

Tom Mac: Very helpful and amazing staff at Bobbi and the Strays! Adopted Hachi (aka Murphy) two weeks ago and the process was thorough but smooth. The staff is very caring for their rescues. Both Lizzie and Nikki were able to provide so much information about Hachi during our 1st visit and pickup. I highly recommend Bobbi and the Strays! Hachi is such a sweet dog, we are so happy to provide him a safe and happy home!

ajohanna: i shouldn’t be surprised by a rescue. my mom and i have been wanting a kitten for a few months now. due to my ELEVEN year old HEALTHY show dog (who is a CHAMPION in the american kennel club) not being neutered, they denied my application. the owner apparently won’t change her views on animals that aren’t fixed. if my dog is HEALTHY why should i have to remove his anatomy? they also need to fix their view on breeders. there are good REPUTABLE breeders out there. my grandparents for one. breeding for YEARS with perfectly healthy puppies and happy families. my mom and i have taken in rescues and fosters FOR a rescue when we lived in florida. so disappointed with this rescue and their views.

Natalie Ricondo: Great place with dedicated staff who truly care about the well being of their dogs. Recently adopted a dog from them about a month ago and couldn't be happier! Would highly recommend this shelter to anyone looking for new member of the family.

KM King: Bobbi and Kim were extremely diligent in making sure a rescued male Yorkie was safe. This beautiful and sweet little guy followed my husband to our front door Friday afternoon. We leashed him, took pictures and put up fliers. We even walked him through the neighborhood hoping to find his family. No one recognized this well taken care of intelligent sweetheart. We took him home and got him feed and bathed. Unfortunately, my husband didn't care to keep him in case no one claimed him. He didn't grow up with animals, whereas my parents never saw an animal they didn't love. At times in my childhood, we would shelter up to 4 dogs, and we lived in a brownstone. Unable to change my husband's mind, I searched for a no kill rescue shelter. I found Bobbi, after reading her reviews and speaking with her on the phone, I was convinced they would make sure this sweet guy would go to a good family. Bobbi was willing to come that evening for him but my husband and I decided to allow another 24 hours for someone to claim this adorable guy. We never imagined we'd fall in love with him overnight. By morning we sprang out of bed to go and play with him. Begrudgingly, I made the call to Bobbi to make arrangements to drop him off. After hanging up the phone literally, barely 10 minutes had passed and our doorbell rang. You guessed it, a Mr. Marvin with the flyer in hand coming to retrieve Lincoln. By the way, the Yorkie had no collar so my husband and I named him DeDe. Mr. Marvin told us his name was Lincoln and when we called the little guy, his ears perked and he came a running. As we said our goodbyes to Lincoln, I asked Mr. Marvin how did he lose Lincoln, to which he responded, "oh he runs out of the house every time we open the door, this isn't the first time he's run off". I was mortified. Now I"m thinking how can I rescue this poor guy. The owner was willing to relinquish ownership. I dropped Lincoln off with Kim the groomer and happily ever after. The only exception, my husband and I now have an empty place in our hearts, for we miss Lincoln so much it hurts. We take solace in knowing that Bobbi and Kim are tenacious and they ensure that ALL our their pets go to good homes. These ladies may be seem tough, but they have to be the voice for our furry friends and family who are voiceless and often maligned. Go Ladies and more power to You!!! I am posting two photos of Lincoln Before and after we gave him to Bobbie and the Strays. Don't you just love that face!!!

Tom McCarthy: Bobbi and her staff were great to deal with. They thoroughly check out where their animals will be living and if pet and owner are suitable. They have A large selection of dogs to pick from. We picked our 4 yr old Pomeranian and, out of many dogs weve had in the past, this is the sweetest, most well behaved dog we have ever owned. You dont always need A puppy to be happy. It breaks my heart that someone just let her wander the streets. Many thanks again to the staff. Joy will be our joy for many years to come

ASPCA Adoption Center: what do users think?

Judy Wallace: Got my dog there almost 4 years ago. Love her. Had a great adoption experience. They do a lot of follow up to make sure all is going well. They also do a great job at evaluating dogs' behavior so you can find a dog that suits you.

Yanina Calderon S.: Honestly, this is the best place we're the health of your pet is a priority 💯 the prices are reasonable for low income people like me, all staff members are amazing they understand and listen to what your going true with your pet, they truly care, I strongly recommend it! I'm more than thankful 🙏

Max Rivera: Dog bless the staff for taking care of my fur baby smokey. Smokey had a ear hematoma and doing better after Doctor Tony An took care of smoke. Doctor An, ever made a follow up call on a Saturday which to me speaks volumes in my pups care. The ASPCA IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH.

Roberta Heiden: Positive: Professionalism, QualityWe have had 8 years(so far) of a wonderfully loving adoptee!!! The best girl ever!!! And quickly became an ESA/ADA DOG!!!She is now 15 and going strong! Thank G-d!

cait: I had a fantastic adoption experience today at ASPCA. We came in looking to adopt a cat and bring them home with us same day. I was very anxious not knowing what to expect. We got there and were given a questionnaire and set up with our matchmaker, Daniel. He asked a few follow up questions and said he had a few options that fit my preferences. He showed us to the most adorable bonded pair set of boy kittens that we immediately connected with. I saw one more cat and knew the first pair were the ones. We were given enough food for weeks, personalized collars and vouchers for emergency vet care. Daniel really understands the animals in their care and genuinely wants to see them go to fitting homes. He was so knowledgeable and I felt completely confident going home with my 2 kittens after him walking me through all the resources the ASPCA offers to their adopters. I would HIGHLY recommend this organization and Daniel in particular. Thankful to have people like these in the community. UPDATE: I’ve had my boys for two years now and I can’t imagine life without them. I’m so glad I walked into ASPCA two years ago today!

Lataya G-M: I had a great experience here. They do a great job with the animals and really care about them as well. They was helpful in everyway and did all the could to help me with my pet and now my pet is at her best health.

Flavio Alberto Pinos: It was a great place, very helpfull staff in taking care of what I need for my dog ....

Pamela Orundu: The staff here are deeply caring and purely amazing. Came here on a Saturday looking to adopt an older cat or dog. We were able to see all the animals in the shelter (most of which were adopted earlier in the day since they had an event). The whole process from start to end was quite seamless despite it being somewhat busy. I was able to interact with the cat I wanted to adopt, Sid. As a first time pet owner, I wasn't sure if we were the right fit. He had been interacting with people all day and was quite tired so I couldn't exactly gauge how well we would get along. He stayed in the corner and seemed to want to sleep for the most part. There was this fun little quiz I got to take to see what kind of cat would best suit me and Sid matched exactly that! I decided to adopt him that same day with the backup of staff's good words on what he's like usually. It was only a few papers, chat with the vet about medical history/questions, and that was most of it. All I had to do was pay for the pet carrier ($35) because there isn't a pet fee for older pet. I was also provided with a voucher for a first vet visit (which covers up to $200 and must be used in the first 2 weeks of adoption), pet food, and all necessary documents. I had renamed Sid to Ser Pounce and they provided me with the necessary tag as well. Overall, the process of adopting couldn't be easier! It's been over a month and I couldn't be more happier welcoming my new son into my life!!

Elizabeth Cunningham: The NYC ASPCA is the best. Don't go anywhere else. They are empathetic, professional, get down to business like no other. I have been going there for 30+ years and they are hands down, the best NYC has to offer.

person: I submitted an application almost 2 weeks ago. Everytime I've called I'm met with an automated system directing me to the website for adoption. So I showed up in person and sat there for over an hour, and security didn't help at all except give me the website. When I'm already there in person and already submitted an application. It was impossible to reach any actual human. How are these animals supposed to find loving homes if no one wants to be bothered to answer a human?

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center: what do users think?

helen hewlett: Many cats and kittens to choose from. Large areas for the animals. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Please adopt. Lots of furrever homes needed.

DS Ramsey: I cannot say enough wonderful things about this NO KILL cat shelter. They have really nice cages and open space for the cats. They know their names and take quality time to adopt them to good loving homes. If you are a cat lover and want to volunteer I’d so suggest this place.

Kelsey McNeilly: I adopted my cat from here a month ago and was so happy with the entire process. The person helping me, Diane, was very kind and helpful. We did an interview with some paperwork and then she introduced me to some of the cats. She was very understanding of my indecisiveness, and very knowledgeable about all the cats. All of the staff seemed to really love these animals and I could not be happier.

Gudrun Grace: I can't say enough about how fantastic their facility is. Super clean animals are super happy so much to enrich their their lives from mouse videos to separate apartments not cages and a fantastic view to bird feeders.

Eve H: The staff pretty nice!!!!!!!! Bert(now Fatsai/speedbump) made my day everyday since 2018! Thank you Carol!!!!!!!!!!! Bert say hello to you and the huge family again!!! Still remember the day you and ur husband help my babe to a new home!

Nikki Sweets: Animal House is wonderful! Staff is incredible and caring, cats are kept clean, look healthy, and their wonderful volunteers give them so much care and enrichment every day! Please consider adopting a cat (or two) from there!

Leonila Salinas: I adopted this little cutie, Eevee (Formerly known as Buttercup II), from Animal House in May of 2017. It was shortly after my 16 year old cat, Poopy, had passed and I was heartbroken. The volunteers at A.H. were friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. Their facilities are clean and organized, the cats are happy and well-cared for. My 14 year old cat, Fiona, passed this past January and, sadly, I am back on the market for another cat. I know I’ll find the perfect companion for Eevee at Animal House!

n64central: They never answer their phone or respond to emails. They have such an overcomplex process just to come see cats, but then fail to follow their own rules. You want people to set up an appt, but never follow up? Come on now

L Ross: Such a wonderful place. I volunteered here and they keep everything SOOO sanitary and nice! Must be 24 to adopt though, but I understand their reasons! Everyone was so nice, will be back again!

Serenity Cherish: A great place to adopt from. Very friendly, loving place. Although they have all ages of kitties...I found a beautiful sweet 9 year old kitty today. They were so excited I picked her. After I picked her, I learned... She will be coming to her very First home. They have had Ally since she's was just a couple days old. When they told me I had to hold back my tears. They have been taking great care of her all these years and because of their compassion & hard work, I get to bring her home 9 years later!!!

Oakland County Animal Shelter: what do users think?

Kimberlee Hopkinson: Very helpful and helpful! I loved that they did free rabies shot with your tags purchase!Do have to have dog stay in car then they’ll call you when ready.

T J: Spent a lot of time there looking for the "right dog" for our family. Move fast, some types of dogs get adopted fast - we dragged our feet over the weekend and missed out on a beautiful dalmatian! We ended up getting our dog from a local private rescue, but this place is great! Very clean. Staff is nice and informative. You get to spend one on one time with the pets outside.

Beth Brown: I've been to the OCAS many times over the years. I watched it grow into a caring clean place for animals. This time, I was surrendering my dear old dog, as his life had become nothing but old-dog problems. The staff were very kind, and they understood my feelings about putting my dog to sleep. If you want to add a pet to your family, I highly recommend going to the animal shelter and adoption center. Don't shop, adopt!

Glen McCormick: I used to work here in 2007&08. The staff I worked with were very loving towards ALL the animals there. And to see the New Shelter now, I know in my heart that these animals are in caring & loving hand's. Best Wishes Always and keep up with the good work you all do there.

Kimberly Johnson: They are horrible. They adopted a cat to a friend of mine and said that he didn't have to pay anything until they called him to have the cat's teeth worked on. They told him he could take the cat to his vet to speed the process up. When he went to his vet they had to pull the cat's paperwork (that was never given to my friend). When the Oakland county animal shelter got the vet's call they told them that they weren't allowed to see the cat. It's been 3 months now and still nothing about vet work. They now want the cat back all after money has been spent to care for this cat. And they are having a big animal adoption blow out coming up because their shelter is full.

Michael Burby: Was totally appalled at how supervisers treat young women taking care of and cleaning cat area. The cat cages were cleaner then they have ever been and the young cleaning person kindly stated she couldn't get a cat out to show us. She treated us with respect and show lived for the cats and kittens in her care. While front desk personal showed little to no respect to us.

Destiney Blades: I adopted my cat Tansy from Oakland animal shelter. I was allowed to spend as much time as I needed with each cat until I made my choice. They have soft music playing and their cages were very clean. She's almost 2 now and our family wouldn't be the same without her in it. I highly recommend Oakland County for finding your future pet adoption.

Elusive Stitcher: They took excellent care of my dog when he got away from me. He was there about a week, and wasn't traumatized in the least. I'm so glad he was found and well cared for!

Jerry Cadreau: Great staff. They are caring and helpful. They do a great job at matching pets with appropriate owners. They really care for these pets as they wait for their forever homes.

Sylvia Bender: Got my cat here, had a smooth adoption experience and the volunteer that helped me was amazing. Took him to the vet as recommended and found out he had ibs which is now well managed!!

CARE STL Adoption Center: what do users think?

Cori Jo Smith: They are all so sweet and caring. You can really feel the love they have for the animals they work for. They are also really great at asking questions to figure out what animal would fit you best as opposed to just trying to empty out the shelter. They are also so reasonably priced for their adoptions. I have adopted from here and am currently fostering to adopt and I will forever recommend this place!

Charlynda Snodgrass: They are very good at giving you all the information in pets that they have. Because of unforeseen issues with dog I was going to get and had already paid for they let me pic out another one. They assured me that the issues would be handled with the previous choice. So I visited with three others and now have this sweet loving girl. I really feel she was destined to be with me. She is turning out to be the perfect match! Thank you so much to Pet Adoption St. Louis

Jenny Kerr: CARE STL took extra time after closing at an adoption event to make sure I found the right match for a 🐈🐈‍⬛ fur-sibling to my lonely 3 y/o cat who 1 year ago lived with a friend who had 2 big dogs but couldn't keep him after moving in with someone allergic... After being cautioned about the temperament of 1 kitty who I'd seen online but hates people & who had been there a long time, I still just knew she was the one!!!... It will take a while but I'm patient (aka: "a Cat whisperer") & can handle a challenge! 😹 ~ (Even if she never warms up to me, that's OK, as she is a companion to my boy & she's "a real cat's cat")~ ♡ The care everyone took to try to get her more friendly towards humans is apparent. 💕 UPDATE!: Only 2 months later, "Poinsettia" (who I re-named "Gina") JUST SAT ON MY LAP for the 1st time!!!!~ How precious! 😻

Ric Ware: Great staff very caring when I bring my dog for scheduled appointments.

Aaron Campeau: Awesome place. We foster a dog from there. They're foster care program is awesome. There's way too many homeless dogs and cats out there so fostering an animal is awesome! You even get they're food and monthly preventive medicine from care stl when you foster an animal once monthly. I highly suggest giving the foster program thought if you are thinking about adding a pet to your family!

Debra Woods: Took our newly rescued dog( from Dog Saver in Washington Mo) here to pick out some treats and toys.We also got her a new collar and name I'd tag made.

Rosemarie Mateo: Folks were nice, I'm not sure how clean their kennels are as the place smelled as if they were not clean. They do not let you view all the dogs for animal safety. Personally, if I'm looking for a dog there might be that one that gives me the look that I want instead of one's that I thought I wanted. I think the adoption process would be better if they had a way for you to walk through the kennels.

Hash Smith: Everything is so slow, old-school, no-tech. Only few staff opinions are heard. Always double standards. Not supportive. If social media team is changed, this place will be blooming. They are passionate about deleting social media by volunteers but not uploading. Nonprofit needs to invest in technology and fast-paced, digital-savvy young boards!!

Ryan Weber (Budrweber): I love going to volunteer with the animals! Please help out if you can, and if you are looking for a pet please please adopt!!

Jeff Uren: Staff was great, gave us the best information they could about the dog we wanted to possibly adopt. We ended up bringing him home and so far everything has been quite good. If you feel the need to get a pet, do not hesitate to check this place out. Many lovely animals that need a home are waiting for you here.

Almost Home Humane Society: what do users think?

Martha Schultz: We adopted our cat from Almost Home Humane Society earlier this month and we were treated with the utmost caring and respect! Our cat is so fantastic and the staff that work and volunteer there are so wonderful! They work so hard and they have so much love for all of the animals! Please visit Almost Home Humane Society and adopt a forever friend and family member!

Alejandro Salazar: Come here in my free time to give the dogs some love. If you got free time you should come here and volunteer 🙋‍♂️😌

Jennifer Logan: My daughter adopted a cat from them 8 months ago. They said he was a very friendly loving cat so she decided to get him. Unfortunately when she got him home he was aggressive not friendly and not loving for the most part. He would let her touch him if he wanted her to. Unfortunately his aggression got too bad and we had to return him to them. She wasn't wanting to return him but she couldn't take the chance of him attacking her in her apartment again. We had to have animal control come and help us get him into a carrier to be able to take them back that is how aggressive he was. When we got there to drop him off they made her fill out paperwork which I understand they have to do, but she wanted to be able to tell him goodbye she was in tears and very upset that she had to even take him back. They did let her tell him goodbye but after they had taken him into the back the girl told another person in the building which cat it was and they acted like my daughter was the most horrible person for returning him. As I said she was in tears over having to take the cat back she actually really loves the cat but she can't afford to have the cat attacking her every time she comes home. The staff member that I talked to was very in my opinion unsympathetic to the plight of my daughter and her having to return the cat. The staff should remember that when people are returning animals is not always because they just don't want them it was because of safety reasons. I tried to explain to the staff person they just basically in my opinion blew me off and we were not very happy with how it ended up being. Hope you all have a better reaction or response with them than we did.

Tom Holladay: Almost Home is fantastic, great people take such good care of our furry companies. Over the years we have adopted 6 great dogs!

maryanne wegert: Everyone was so nice....how they take care of all those animal WOW!....they do an exceptional job.

Angela Hamphton: Really clean, and friendly. The animals seem to be taken care of great and showed lots of affection. I love that some of the older animals are called rock stars and some of there adoption fees are cleared.

Lauren lunalee: I've adopted both of my cats from the humane society and they are wonderful. The cats came with a free visit to the vet for the first check up and the fee was small for adoption less than 50 for one cat. Also the cats are well taken care of and loved that this place. They didn't have any fleas when I got them :)

D'Tarius Hale: Had a great time with the animals staff was great and you can see they truly care about the animals in their care. After visiting for a minute i met Humphrey and absolutely fell in love with him they made the adoption process very smooth and easy and am so happy to welcome my new furry friend to his forever home theres so many wonderful animals there tht need a home i reccomend to anyone looking for a new furry best friend to go there and to any of the staff tht sees this heres some great pictures of Humphrey he loves his new home and has already settled in nicely 😊

Kimberly Erwin-Orrell: The staff has always been very kind and helpful. They have a variety of cats and dogs available to adopt. Please consider adding a furever friend to your family.

Heather Blocki: This is a non-traditional (and, sorry - really long!) review. We were the "re-home" for a dog we found through Craigslist who we (quickly) discovered had massive separation anxiety. Our house was progressively getting destroyed every time we had to leave (read: scratched up doors, ripped up carpet, chewed THROUGH a door), and we were at our wits' end. We'd ordered a crate, but it hadn't arrived, and we knew we were going to need to be away a couple times during the coming days before the crate arrived. We were so desperate that we seriously contemplated surrendering her to a shelter because we just didn't know what to do and were dreading whatever the next ante-up was going to be in terms of destruction of our home. (Side note: I'm pretty sure I cried for about two days straight as I contemplated this. I volunteered at a shelter for several years, and I saw first-hand that dogs with separation anxiety were really hard cases for shelters. The dogs are otherwise really adoptable, but they get returned over and over again by angry people whose homes have been destroyed by them. The amount of time and energy spent by shelter employees and volunteers trying to desensitize and retrain these dogs is fairly enormous. Knowing all this, you can imagine how horrible I felt even considering having to burden a shelter with her.) In a last ditch effort, I called Almost Home to see if they possibly rented out crates. They don't, but they did something better - they loaned us a crate. And even blankets to put inside. I really appreciated their efforts to try to help us KEEP a dog that was otherwise headed back to a shelter because a family just couldn't make sufficient accommodations for her. [The end of the story is that said dog broke out of the crate and further destroyed the house while we were away for just over an hour, but thankfully, the ordered crate arrived several days early, we massively reinforced it, and I didn't leave the house for 2 weeks while we crate trained her. She still doesn't like us leaving, but she does go in the crate willingly, and thanks to the crate and anti-anxiety meds, we still have her!!! (And the destruction of our house has stopped...still need to repaint, fix carpet and screen doors, and replace an interior door, though...)] Anyway, I really appreciated the efforts of the people at the shelter, their kindness, and their long-sighted vision for the care of animals, not just those currently at the shelter. If we found ourselves needing to adopt again someday, I'm confident our search would start at Almost Home.

Colony Cats Adoption Center: what do users think?

Natalee A: I adopted my Prince, Jasper (formerly known as Oliver), from Colony Cats about 2 weeks ago. The staff was very helpful, patient, and kind! They even let me borrow a cat carrier, as I didn’t have my own, and told me to bring it back when I’m able to. No strings attached. Their willingness to be so giving to a total stranger really sat w me! As well as providing a ton of helpful advice for adopting a new pet and food/vitamins for him to start off. He is now in a loving home, thanks to the volunteers, staff, and donations given to Colony Cats. I highly recommend to anyone looking to find a cat that fits well with you! I love that it’s cage free.

Sarah Christman: Colony Cats is without a doubt a wonderful place to adopt your next furry friend. The entire concept of having the cats roam free in the building is a great, fun, interactive way to get to meet everyone. Staff is helpful and kind and genuinely cares about making sure that you and your future furry friend are well acquainted for each other. Highly recommend! (PS Aspire is doing wonderful in her new home, two months later :) )

pooja dahal: I love colony cats, I have already adopted my 2 cats from here. The staffs are very friendly, they give detail instruction to take care of kitten, gave us some probiotics & extra supplements for our kitty (sunflower). We didn’t change her name because her name is perfect for the way she looks. I love this cage free adoption center. Colony cats should be given more donations, to keep up with this amazing service they’ve been doing.

Avery Norviel: I got my first cat here when I was 18. They are very welcoming to new cat owners and the application and adoption process is super quick and easy. You fill out an adoption application and once it’s approved, you can go in and adopt any kitty you want within the next month! I also ended up getting my third cat from here a couple months later, and the process was just as easy. The second cat I got from here was sick when I took her home, which progressively got worse. I called Colony Cats and they set up a vet appointment for me where I could get her checked out for free.

Britaney Walker: My family and I found an adorable female cat at my husband’s work, which is on a busy road full of businesses. She came right up to us and was the most lovable kitty I’ve come across. When we found her on the Saturday of memorial weekend, so I knew I wouldn’t be able to get a hold of any rescues. We kept the sweet girl for the weekend and I e-mailed colony cats and a woman named Shannon for back to me immediately & said they had room for the cat, and I was able to take her in that coming Tuesday. I am so, so thankful they had a spot to take this kitty. Most of the rescues are at full capacity right now,, so I was worried. They are a great rescue & it’s like a cat's playground in there. I highly recommend Colony cats if you want to adopt or take a cat in. Thank you to the people that care about these sweet animals that are abandoned or mistreated. You guys are wonderful ❤️ added picture of the cute kitty we found.
Response: Thank you for caring about this kitty and taking it home to a safer place! We are so glad we had capacity when you emailed to take her in and to have the honor of finding her a forever home.

Rod Warrix: Great place adopted three cats already! They give you food and instructions for new adoptions and take homes. They also tell you about the microchipping they do on the cats and kittens and how to sign up for the extra services. They do give the first supply of medication if the cats need it. Friendly staff lots of kittens and cats to choose from for sure.

Jessica Wollum: An amazing organization that truly cares about cats! From strays to surrenders they care for them until the find the purrrfect home. Volunteer run, very friendly people. Come and love on the cats and you might find a forever friend!

Ronald Shinn: I was really impressed with facility and the staff!! The no cage concept allowed us to interact with many different cats and allowed us to make the choices we felt related to us and each other!! They provided us with medical records and chip info - my bet was impressed!! Karen was very helpful setting up my account. I had a follow up call with Amanda with their staff - she was extremely helpful!! They were very busy on Thursday evening - I understand!! Staffing is tough everywhere - these are volunteers who obviously love cats!!

M A: Edited! Look at these two happy kitties! Papa is now on the adoption floor at Colony Cats (& dogs). He is so happy and chill and laid back. He deserves a loving home. Once he got the care and love and attention he needed he turned into the best fluffy boy ever! The younger black kitty is still being medically fostered and socialized. I’m so grateful for the volunteers at Colony Cats. She had a broken leg and we were so worried about her. They helped trap her and get her medical attention. She loves pets and snuggles and is so good with my fur kids. Their programs for TNR (trap neuter return) and for adopting pets who need homes are both so fantastic. I’m so delighted. What a great place. New pics to replace the old ones. Our neighborhood had a feral cat problem and we needed help. We were over run with feral cats and their kittens. I’m so glad we had help and advice on how to set up and TNR (trap, neuter & return) the cats and get the kittens adopted out. colony cats is a great place full of volunteers who care. Go adopt pets here. And when you have extra money donate to them to keep feral and stray cats off the street and to help with medical expenses. I’ve posted some pictures of two feral cats who have broken legs who are currently staying with foster volunteers while they heal. Maybe they’ll be adoptable once they heal. Thanks to Colony Cats and their volunteers!

K. Sullivan: They're pretty great here. I love that they keep the kittens and the juveniles separate since I wanted a very specific kind of cat. He's wonderful (and he's got some friends left who are very sweet if you're on the prowl for your next feline). They also make sure you've got support for health issues within the first 2 weeks (which I did and I very much appreciated). I almost wish I could get them to decorate my house too!

Front Street Animal Shelter: what do users think?

Wesley: The Animal Care Services was busy when we were there but the staff were super kind and helpful. There’s a dog park for your dog! They have a lot of animals to adopt and you can also help volunteer to foster some of their animals.

MariaElena Rivas: This little guy happened to gain access to the school grounds where I currently work. I was able to spend 5 minutes and knew he was coming home with me. Shortly after Animal Control came to pick up this pup and I informed A.C. I wanted and was taking him home. A.C took him and said the dog needed to be checked for chip and his information would be uploaded to the system to allow the owners to claim him. I immediately found him online with the help of a representative and followed through their 3 to 5 day process. On day until he became available to adopt just for the shelter to tell me sorry first come first serve and was placed in foster care with the chance of adoption. I was definitely misled by A.C this is not right... I hope this dog does go to a good home. I will never go to a shelter again. Just not right * Plus* The person who helped me today was awesome person. And the pup he showed us was cute and gentle but not the reason why I went in the first place.

Evinee Tullos: I adopted a cat named Bella and when we adopted her I immediately noticed she was absolutely infested with worms how can a shelter not see it they were crawling out of her they really should pay more attention to the animal’s condition. I treated the worms and she has recovered greatly she fits in well with our family.

A K: We adopted a wonderful kitten here. I actually visited with my sights set on another kitten I'd seen on their website, who ended up adopted by a person just ahead of me in the appointment line. I'm happy it wound up that way, though, because in the meantime, we were "chosen" by a little 5-month-old tabby who immediately approached the side of his kennel and engaged my two young sons and me. He was so friendly and sweet, reaching his paw through the bars. When it was our turn to meet our cats of interest, the staff member let us into the private staff area behind the cages to check the kitten out. The kitten sealed the deal by purring as we held him and tolerating my five-year-old holding him in his clumsy way. The staff member was great and made picking out our first family cat a fun and memorable experience for us. He was friendly, patient with my children, never pressured or rushed us, and expressed excitement for us when we decided to take Thor home. We've had Thor for more than a month now and are delighted with him. He's playful, sweet, cuddly, and has a wonderful temperament. He developed a little cold after coming home (common from shelters) but I used the VCA appointment voucher provided by Front Street to set him up with a great vet who gave me antibiotics when his cold turned into a little infection. He's all better now and is all that we could hope for in a cat. Thanks, Front Street, for making my kids' first experience getting a cat a wonderful one! Thor has even converted my husband into a cat-lover (or liker, haha).

Cindy Terrazas: I took an injured, very sick dog there. Robin was very helpful when I called. She had a team waiting for me to help get PAPA THEO the care he needed. He was very thin, cuts under both eyes with pus oozing from them. You could smell the infection coming off him. In this case. Front Street came through for this baby! Thank you!

Jeremy Talbot: Awesome people doing awesome work! Providing excellence and superior services. A total 10 out of 5 stars!!! You guys rock!

Bethann Mitchell: The Front Street Animal Clinic held another vaccination, chip, and also gave bags of both cat and dog food. We had an 8 am appointment,.it went so smooth. From registration, to where they received care . The staff, all of them are awesome.Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, really caring. The animals are well cared for. They will hold another clinic in January, 2023. Go to "Front Street Animal Center" website, and click on services. That will give all the information about preregistration, directions, etc. Again all of the staff and volunteers were, are awesome. Thank You Front Street.

Mark Moore: This is a special place place. It’s the only place I’ve ever donated too. They even let me donate in remembrance of my grandpa which was very helpful after he passed. He gave me my love of animals and every year after they’ve sent me and him a letter thanking us and giving little updates. It makes it feel like no one has forgotten my grandpa. The staff here love the animals and try super hard. Puppy mills are awful and horrid things. Don’t go buy a $2k teacup poodle.. go here and adopt a pet that needs help. Imagine your current dog in a shelter wondering wheee you are.. it’s heartbreaking. Well, that’s how any animal is at any shelter so please adopt. For what it’s worth I’ve been to like 15 months n the area and this is the one shelter that if I were a rich man, id give the bulk of it to them. Again, please adopt. Call or email and the people here will make it an easy experience. I guarantee a PERFECT best buddy is there just waiting for you to come give them a second shot.

Richard “Sherpa” Lester: They are awesome, they fixed him for free and because he is a service animal his registration is free. By the way shelter staff, update Raider P. Nation has to his account 3 rescued kids out of the north Platt river in Cody Nebraska and 6 kids lost up at onion valley Donner summit. Thank you so much for the excellent care you give my hero pit bull

Diem Trang Phan Bui: They have a very great and kind team of service members, but i don't quite understand an amputation decision as well as couple experiences when I visited the shelter. However, I thank the shelter and its staff for protecting the less fortunates and had spent significant efforts to help me find a matched and well loved adoption.
